SCOPRI DI PIù
Piazza Vittorio Veneto (known simply as Piazza Vittorio by the locals) is one of the largest historical squares in Turin and Europe, located between Via Po and the left bank of the River Po. Built in the 19th century during the Savoy period, it reflects the refinement of the urban planning commissioned by the House of Savoy, helping to define the city's modern and elegant image.
The square is connected to the opposite bank by the Vittorio Emanuele I bridge, which leads to the Borgo Po neighbourhood and offers a privileged view of the Gran Madre di Dio church, Monte dei Cappuccini and the streets leading up to the hill. The presence of the Murazzi del Po and the riverside promenades completes a fascinating urban landscape.
Today, Piazza Vittorio is synonymous with socialising: at sunset, it becomes the centre of Turin's aperitif ritual. Among the elegant arcades and outdoor cafés overlooking the Gran Madre, you can enjoy local vermouths and typical appetisers in a lively and refined atmosphere. Here, just like in many other squares in Turin, the bars and cafés have welcomed intellectuals, artists and writers over the centuries.
With its strategic location, architectural elegance and convivial spirit, Piazza Vittorio is now an unmissable stop for experiencing the flavour and history of Turin.
