Devotion and hospitality in the town of charity

Founded in the 15th century by the Brotherhood of Santa Croce, the church was linked from the very beginning to the care of pilgrims and the sick. Rebuilt in the 17th century, it preserves valuable works of art and an atmosphere of contemplation that continues to inspire charity and hospitality.

Founded in the mid-15th century by the Brotherhood of Santa Croce, the church was created as spiritual support for the hospital of the same name, run by devout lay people who took care of pilgrims and the sick. The existing building was erected in the 17th century and has a simple and harmonious Baroque façade, enhanced in the 18th century by an elegant bell tower. The interior, with a single nave and side chapels, is embellished by the natural light that enters through the lantern on the central dome. The canvases and frescoes by Michele Antonio Milocco, a court painter active at the Reggia di Venaria, and the wooden choir carved by Giuseppe Antonio Riva are outstanding. The church is an admirable example of how architecture and art can support the mission of Christian charity. Today, alongside its artistic value, the church continues to be a place of contemplation and welcome, remaining faithful to the spirit in which it was founded.
