Bosco del Re is the historic park adjoining the Royal Castle of Moncalieri, now part of the CollinaPo MaB UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
It covers approximately seven hectares of terraced hillside, differing from the other gardens of the Royal Residences in its wooded, wilder and more meditative nature. The park was designed as a hunting reserve, but also as a contemplative space, in keeping with the romantic sensitivity of the nineteenth century.
Crossed by pathways, stairways and belvederes, Bosco del Re offers spectacular views of the Turin plain and the Alpine arc.
After being closed for decades, it has been restored and reopened to the public, offering art, botany, science and architecture in a space to be enjoyed with outdoor activities and walks.
Visitors can relive the discreet charm of the Savoy court, surrounded by silence, woodland scents and memories of historic royal splendour.
It is a place where nature, history and culture come together in a living narrative accessible to all.
